Natural ways to soothe abdominal pain

Almost everyone will experience or have experienced abdominal pain. For some, the aches are even come and go in a timely manner. If this is the case for you, then you shouldn’t just get used to the pain that you are feeling in your abdomen area. There are people that can’t justify spending time and money to get the medications needed to soothe abdominal pain. Thankfully, there are natural ways to ensure that the pain felt is not severe. Below are some natural ways for you to be able to address the abdominal pain that you are feeling.

Heat

With the use of a heating pad or with a bottle of hot water, you can soothe the abdominal pain. Warm up water to a safe and tolerable level then place it over the area or areas of the abdomen where you are experiencing the pain in. As soon as the heat becomes too comfortable, replace it with another pad or bottle. Keep this pattern going until the pain is soothed. This may take 10 to 15 minutes depending on the severity of the pain and how hot the heating pad or bottle of water is. Other items you can use include socks and face towels.

Lemon and Mint

Lemon juice contains an acid that can stimulate your stomach. This will boost your digestion and help soothe the pain that you are feeling in your abdomen area. Heat up some water and mix a 2 to 3 tablespoons of lemon juice before drinking. If you want a little bit more flavor, you can add honey or crushed mint leaves to your lemon tea. In fact, mint leaves on their own can be beneficial to you because they have natural painkilling properties. If you don’t have any lemons lying around in the house, but you do have mint, try chewing on some fresh mint leaves or making peppermint tea.

Ginger

Perhaps one of the most popular natural remedies, ginger has proven time and time again that it can help address pain and nausea. This means that you can use it to soothe the abdominal pain that you may be experiencing. Ginger is full of natural compounds that will help your system fight any inflammation before they even begin to spurt. Any excess stomach acid will be reduced so you don’t have to worry about issues with digestion. If you aren’t comfortable chewing on ginger due to its strong flavor, you can make tea with it instead.

Apple Cider Vinegar

If you are in need of a natural cleaner, then you definitely get apple cider vinegar. It can also clean your system and aids with digestion. Anything that you may have consumed which is giving you abdominal pain will be processed through your digestive system much more efficiently through the consumption of apple cider vinegar. Drinking it before a meal ensures that you absorb nutrients and treat abdominal pain much more effectively. You can mix it with the water that you drink if you find the taste too strong.
